korean baby potatoes (gamja jorim)

Gamja Jorim is a salty and slightly sweet Korean side dish made of baby potatoes. So cute and easy to make.

You will need:

30 baby potatoes

1/2 tbsp. salt

1/3 cup soy sauce

2/3 tbsp. fresh garlic or garlic powder

1 tsp. ginger powder

2/3 tbsp. apple vinegar

4 tbsp. sugar

1 tbsp. roasted sesame seeds

1/2 tbsp. corn starch

Boil the unpeeled potatoes in salted water for about 15 minutes. There should be enough water so that the potatoes are completely submerged. Mix the soy sauce, garlic, ginger, vinegar, sugar, sesame seed and corn starch in a separate bowl. Drain the potatoes. Put the pot of potatoes back on the stove over medium heat. Pour the sauce over the potatoes and cook for about 7 more minutes, mixing occasionally. Pour the potatoes into a serving dish and sprinkle more sesame seed on top.

All the ingredients for this dish are used for most other Korean dishes as well. Perfect for making more Korean food!
